As can be seen from the charts below, housing prices in Gedney Farms have gone down during the housing recession. What the charts are indicating right now is that 2012 marked the turning point. Sales volume went up sharply even if prices remained low.

Gedney Farms White Plains NYGedney Farms is a beautiful neighborhood with large rolling lawns and ample lot size. It’s a very quiet and private community similar to some of the finer neighborhoods of Scarsdale and Larchmont but without the steep price point.

As can be seen from the charts below, housing prices in Gedney Farms have gone down during the housing recession.  What the charts are indicating right now is that 2012 marked the turning point. Sales volume went up sharply  even if prices remained low.  That is substantiated by the current data for 2013.  As of this writing (July 2013) there have been 11 home sales in Gedney farms with ranging between $599,000 – $1,025,000.  The median price is $745,000 – up 4.3% from the previous year’s median price. Indicating that the market has reached a turning point and that prices are now on the upswing.

As of the end of July 2013 there were 8 active listings in Gedney Farms. Listing prices range from $765,000 to $1.56  million.  3 homes are under contract with list prices ranging from $899,000-$1,150,000.

The Neighborhood and Surroundings:

Though not strictly walkable, those who happen to be close to Mamaroneck Ave. could walk down to Gedney Way for some fine dining. Sams of Gedney Way is a popular destination as well as Emma’s Ale House.  Roosters Market also provides a convenient place to order a meal or buy a few essentials without taking the  car.  As far as getting out of the house for some exercise – the golf course views and winding roads of Gedney are ideal for biking, running and long walks.  I grew up in Gedney Farms and to this day – I often return to for long walks with my Siberian Huskies. Its a wonderful environment for outdoor activities.
