Every year, right before independence day, people ask me the same question. Where can I see great fireworks on the 4th of July without making the trip into the city?
Well, here are some ideas for your 4th of July weekend.
Mount Vernon – Fireworks Spectacular
Loads of stuff for the kids including bouncy houses and a fidget spinner Guinness Book of World Records challenge, and video game trucks.Events begin 3:30-10 PM Fireworks begin 9-9:30PM
Mount Vernon High School
Lewisboro – Fireworks Spectacular ($20 Parking Fee)
Entertainment begins at 7 PM. Fireworks 9:15-9:30 PM
Onatru Farm Park, 99 Elmwood Rd
Yonkers – Summer Fest Fireworks and Concert
2 hour concert which features the “Broadway Project Band”
8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers, NY
White Plains – Independence Day Celebration
Enjoy a concert by “Tramps Like Us”, a kids corner and, of course, a fireworks display
6:30 – 10 PM
White Plains High School
Katonah – Caramoor Center for Music and Arts
Pops, Patriots & Fireworks
This is a music concert with fireworks Features “Westchester Symphonic Winds”

Rye Playland is famous for its weekly pyrogenics which continue throughout the summer. (9:15 PM every Friday until Labor Day).
The Fireworks July 3rd and 4th are choreographed to music.
Ossining – Independence Day Fireworks (FREE)
Fireworks on the Hudson River!
7:30 – 10PM (Fireworks begin at 9:15
Louis Engel Waterfront Park
Secor Rd and Westerly Rd (next to Railroad Station)
Mamaroneck – Annual Firemen’s Carnival & Fireworks Spectacular (FREE) Admission for fireworks – pay/ride for the Carnival)
Harbor Island Park, 123 Mamaroneck Avenue
9 PM for fireworks
This event has become a yearly tradition for for many families along the Sound Shore. You can spend the whole day. Just bring a blanket and secure a spot along the marina to enjoy the fireworks.
New Rochelle – Spark of the Sound July 4th Fireworks (FREE)
At the New Rochelle Waterfront
There aren’t too many bad locations to view the fireworks along the shore. Best viewing spots include Five Islands Park, Hudson Park and the Municipal Marina.
Peekskill – 4th of July Celebration (FREE)
Riverfront Green Park – Hudson Avenue and Route 9
Fireworks begin at 9 PM.
Music by “Barnstorm” and fireworks
Tarrytown – 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks (FREE)
Pierson Point Park, Kingsland Park and the RiverWalk.
Concert with “Billy and the Showman”
7 PM – Fireworks start at dusk
